Sunday Sept 14, 2014 from 7 to 8:30pm Barbara Dane and Ian Ruskin will present a program celebrating the release of Ruskin’s “A Wild Woman Sings the Blues”, a just completed radio documentary about Barbara Dane, narrated by Holly Near. Tickets: $12 in advance, $15 at door
Barbara will sing several songs, accompanied by guitarist, Johnny Harper, followed by brief exerpts from Ruskin’s radio documentary. A Q&A with Barbara and Ian will follow.

Barbara is a neighbor and a world traveler, a singer of traditiional and original blues and other kinds of folk music. She has performed and collected music world wide. She is one of our cultural treasures. Ian Ruskin’s documentary takes us through Barbara’s life from her Detroit Depression eta childhood to her 85th birthday celebration at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley.
