Every year the Northern California Hula community presents “Ia ‘Oe E Ka La” hula competiton at the Alameda Coounty Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. Come and immerse yourselves in the most beautiful hula and live music you are likely to find all in one place. Eat Hawaiian, Philipino, Japanese plate lunch and shave ice, shop for wonderful fresh flower leis from the Islands & all manner of things Hawaiian, Samoan, Tahitian including musical instruments, jewelry, clothing, books, etc. Groups come from Hawaii, Las Vegas, Washington State to compete. There are children’s groups, young adults, grandparents all showing what a year’s work can produce.
