The Revels will take you to another time and place.  Medieval Europe this year with Geoff Hoyle and many of our best local musicians.  The King and his Fool is a wonderful pageant.  Dec. 12,13,14 and Dec. 19,20,21.  A wonderful show for the entire family.  Our 2 year old granddaughter was captivated.  “ooooh, dresses!” was her wide eyed comment.  www.calrevels.org

We are so fortunate to have a wonderful, historic house in Oakland (1440 29th Ave at International Blvd.) which has been continuously lived in by the family since it was built in the 19th century.  They have just a few events at this home and are well worth attending.  A Christmas High Tea is held after Christmas (there is a reason for it being after rather than before).  This year it will be on Dec. 28th including tours of the house at 1,2,and 3pm. $25 and $20 for under 18 yrs.  Also, a very elegant and authentic formal dinner is held on Twelfth Night, Jan 3,2009.  Sandi Morey will sing from the Oxford Book of Carols as guests arrive and gather and lead carol singing as they light candles on the very large tree.  This is a tradition dating from the building of the home.  The donation for this is $125/ tax deductible.  The funds raised go toward the very much needed repairs to the roof and foundation.  For reservations: cohenbrayinfo@wildblue.net or 510 536-1703.  For more info on events at the Cohen Bray House call 510 843-2906.
